christchurch Judo School boasts some of the best judokas New Zealand
has ever produced. Including, Graeme Spinks the founding member and current
President who is a two-time Olympic Contender.
Graeme, a 7th dan
black belt, has nearly forty years of experience and still competes both
nationally and internationally gaining fifth place at the 2008 Oceania
Championship, at the tender age of 46.
His vision for ensuring that judo
is taught to a high professional standard was the catalyst for the
formation of the Christchurch
Judo School
in 1996. Supported by a strong coaching team the club has over 100 junior
and senior members training seven times a week.
